Mortars for the 21st century
Article Abstract:
There are three main kinds of mortars, namely, platoon mortars of 60 mm caliber; 81 mm to 82 mm for battalion work; and 120 mm heavy mortars. The first two are often man-carried and the latter are almost always vehicle-towed or mounted. One of the best recognized 120 mm mortar is the TDA MO120RT, which is in service with the French and twenty-one other foreign armies. Its strong design enables heavy and sustained rates of fire and its barrel is rifled for higher accuracy. The company also makes a smooth-bored mortar, called the MO-120-LT.

Riot control equipment
Article Abstract:
Riot control forces engaged in crowd control and dispersal operations must be equipped with appropriate weapon systems and protective clothing. To disperse unruly crowds, riot squads usually use tear gas, baton rounds or plastic and rubber bullets that are fired at low velocity. The tear gas canisters or grenades and ammunitions can be fired from grenade launchers and rifles. Anti-riot personnel are usually fitted with body armour and helmets and are given shields to protect them from projectiles thrown by rioters.
