Programmes, politics and the Alliance
Article Abstract:
The overall modern tank program of the Turkish Armed Forces will be Turkey's largest and most expensive defense industrial undertaking in its history, with a total value of considerably over US$10 billion. Political interventions will most certainly exert a significant impact on the whole program. Turkey's modern tank initiative will likely be delayed not only because of an extension of the request-for-proposal deadlines relating to the program but also because of a potential change in program management. However, it will undoubtedly be completed in the early part of the 21st century.
