Reach-forward and other concerns
Article Abstract:
Tensions arising from the constantly increasing level of persistent and high-quality intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and communications offer a detailed picture of the battle space. This has created a new phenomenon referred to as 'reach forward', a situation in which a commander or his staff, possibly thousands of miles away from a theater of operations, uses high-quality battle space pictures and advanced communications to manage tactical events in real time.
