Reorganization of Marine infantry
Article Abstract:
The Marine Corps needs to revise the current structure of its infantry companies in order to produce greater agility and utility to commanders in small war or counterinsurgency environments and face an array of potential adversaries in the global war on terrorism. Several recommendations made to restructure the infantry companies are presented based on Marine Corps experience with the CEP in Vietnam, and continued strategy in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa (HOA).

No more 'one-trick ponies'
Article Abstract:
There is a need to define warfighting requirements before altering the force structure and explore options other than structure changes. It is believed that the solution for maintaining a flexible force capable of conducting missions- from peacekeeping to counterinsurgency to regional conflict is not restructuring but identification and assignment of secondary missions and subsequent training toward those secondary roles.
