Squaring the circle, honing the edge
Article Abstract:
Upgrading a fleet of aircraft should be done only after a careful consideration of several factors. First is the potential threat in ten years. Second is the investment-worthiness of the aircraft. Third is the financial consideration and its effect on future aircraft procurement. Upgrading in itself is not a universal solution. New threats need new solutions and upgrading existing combat aircraft can contribute to the short-medium term solution.
