Sweden plans to build new coast guard vessels
Article Abstract:
The Swedish Fors Materiel Varets (FMV), Defense Material Administration, is accepting proposals for the building of two ships, KBV-201 and KBV-202, for its Coast Guard. The two ships should comply with the regulations of the European Union and with the standards of the classification society, Det Norske Veritas. Norway's Marine Technology Research Institute has formulated the ship's main structural drawings, hull lines, weight calculations and hydronamics. KBV-201 is scheduled to be delivered early in 2000, while KBV-202 will follow in 2001.
