A Submarine Defensive Warfare System is being developed by the United States Navy to improve the effectiveness and survivability of all classes of submarines. The acoustic warfare system is designed to improve the detection, classification and localization performance of legacy acoustic intercept systems, also enabling them to incorporate effective countermeasure technologies.

Merlin flight goes front-line

The Merlin program, a 1.5 billion pounds contract is undertaken by the Lockheed Martin UK Integrated System (UKIS). This program could be responsible for the development specific to the Royal Navy (RN) variant, mission system integration, aircraft production and delivery of 44 aircraft with integrated and fully functional mission systems.
