The Chief of Navy as Armed Forces Chief
Article Abstract:
The Chief of Navy of the Royal Malaysian Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Dato's Sri Mohd Anwar bin Hj. Mohd Nor, was appointed as the Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces on 30 April 2005. For the first time in the MAF's history, the position of the Chief of Armed Forces was given to a Navy officer and this appointment was viewed as a tactic acknowledgement that Malaysia's primary geopolitical and strategic interests lie at sea.
