The reform of the Romanian Armed Forces
Article Abstract:
The Romanian military reform process aims to build up smaller, modern, flexible, expeditionary and NATO-interoperable armed forces which will able to deter and counteract threats to the security of Romania and its Allies. The main goal of the reform process is to achieve the ability to accomplish the fundamental roles and missions, as set up at national and NATO's level and will be governed by the twin principles of pragmatic planning to ensure financial efficiency by an optimum cost/benefit ratio, and of civilian control and enhanced transparency over the overall military reform.
