The I MEF roundtable
Article Abstract:
Deployment to Iraq was started by the I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) (I MEF(Fwd)), in January 2006, having a roundtable conference with its Commanding General and 30 other Marines, as well as representatives from the Army. Marines provide security and battling insurgents, and also play a major role in American efforts to help the people of Iraq rebuild and create the civic and economic foundations essential for a peaceful, prosperous, and democratic future.

Measures of effectiveness
Article Abstract:
US President George Bush has often stated that US and coalition forces will leave Iraq when Iraqi forces and police become capable of taking over the work currently done by coalition forces. Various suggestions as to how to measure the readiness of the Iraqi forces to takeover control of their country are also presented.
