The ICBM makeover
Article Abstract:
The US Air Force (USAF) deactivated its last remaining Peacekeeper ICBM in September 2005, which marked the end of what many viewed as the most powerful weapon system ever built. The USAF is planning to revamp its long-range missile force for the long haul, as its Peacekeeper is retired.
