The Indian Air Force in an acquisition mood
Article Abstract:
The obsolescence and aging of the current fleet and the delay in India's indigenous aircraft program is urging the Indian Air Force (IAF) to acquire several modern air technologies. The IAF has decided to strengthen its air power by buying 126 medium multi-role combat aircraft (M-MRCA), with other acquisitions including HERON UAVs, the PHALCON and SPYDER from Israel, and replacements for Chetak helicopters.

Aerospace Command proposed
Article Abstract:
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has proposed to set up a tri-service Aerospace Command, leading to greater use of space for military purposes. Apart from the active involvement of all three Services, the proposed Aerospace Command will have participation from Indian Space Research Organization and the Defense Research and Development Organization.
