The Ulysses S. Grant Memorial in Washington, D.C.: a monument for the new century
Article Abstract:
A history of the memorial dedicated to Ulysses S. Grant is presented. The project took nearly 20 years to complete, as the statue was commissioned in 1903 and dedicated in 1922. The project cost $250,000 and was one of several monuments that depicted the Civil War.
