Alarms raised over North Korean long-range missiles
Article Abstract:
The rising activities of North Korea to build and deploy such long-range ballistic missiles as the 4,000-6,000km-range Taepo-Dong II are causing concerns among South Korean, Japanese and US officials. According to intelligence reports, Pyongyang could conduct test of either Taepo-Dong II or the second test of the Taepo-Dong I medium-range ballistic missile. After the Aug 1998 first test of the Taepo-Dong I, North Korea reportedly enlarged a launch pad and transported rocket fuel to storage areas nearby.
