The future of Australia's air power: RAAF's response to the ADF NCW roadmap
Article Abstract:
The Royal Australian Air Force's (RAAF) response to building a networked force that provides a clear way to the Australia Defense Force's (ADF) capability development is described. It is necessary to understand how the Air Force operates in the 2010-2015 timeframe and beyond in order to develop well-designed and networked high-end systems, which provide for flexible and adaptive operations in peace and war.

The necessary technological advances and the best operational concepts to tackle the underwater threat in coastal and shallow waters are discussed. A large set of conventional and innovative sensors and deploying them in a netcentric configuration would help to share the necessary information through data links.
