The 'great Marianas turkey shoot' stymied operation A-Go
Article Abstract:
The American Naval aviators triumphed in one of the greatest dogfights ever, scoring a major victory against Japan in 1944, which marked the end of the 'Great Marianas Turkey Shoot'. The Japanese lost nearly 300 aircrafts to the American fliers and the triumph of the American soldiers could be attributed to superior tactics, training, and aircraft and air defense coordination.

Conyngham's great escape
Article Abstract:
The Irish-born Gustavas Conyngham was considered to be one of the US Continental Navy's most aggressive sea raiders and was despised by the British. His expeditions and escapes from the British prisons are described.
