The littoral combat ship
Article Abstract:
The General Dynamics design for the Navy's newest surface combatant, the littoral combat ship (LCS) is designed to adapt to rapidly changing situations and sustaining operations with the right skills and the sea, air and land capabilities needed to win. The LCS features an innovative trimaran hull by which the ship can reach open ocean speeds well over 40 knots with outstanding sea keeping capabilities.

The three vital tasks that the Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1 (MAWTS-1) perform for Marine aviation in order to complete its mission are discussed. The MAWTS-1 is a vibrant force multiplier of the MAGTF by keeping abreast of the current tactics and developments in aviation technology.
