Naval air refueling needs deferred in Air Force tanker plan
Article Abstract:
The Navy and Marine refueling requirements differ from those of the Air Force, and the lack of tanker capability limits their role in the operations, such as, longer-range tactical strikes like those that occurred in Afghanistan and Iraq. However, their needs for special devices that would strengthen long-range aerial refueling capacity were deferred by the Air Force.
