VT clinches Oman's Khareef OPV deal

A United Kingdom-based support services and shipbuilding company VT Group has bagged the Project Khareef ocean patrol vessel (OPV) programme, which covers design and building of three helicopter-capable OPVs for the Royal Navy of Oman. The first handover is scheduled for early 2010 and the others will follow at a six-month interval.

BAE systems, Labuan sign Malaysian frigate MoU

BAE systems and Labuan Shipyard Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding for building of Jebat class vessels, which are likely to be built partly in the U.K. and Malaysia and will be fitted with modern state of the art combat facilities.
