Training to kill the enemy with rifles
Article Abstract:
The execution of the Marine Corps marksmanship-training program required to be reconsidered as it does not consistently and efficiently produce a Marine rifleman who can hit enemy personnel with aimed rifle fire. The entry-level rifle (ELR) marksmanship training and sustained-level rifle (SLR) marksmanship training has three phases such as Phase I as preparatory training, Phase II as known distance (KD) firing and Phase III as field firing. However, these phases should be changed in order to produce efficient riflemen.

Lessons learned: Retrofitting Marine Corps training for the modern battlefield
Article Abstract:
In The Basic School (TBS) for Marine lieutenants, the components of combat skills are taught separately, and since the training takes much time, it brings about impractical and inapplicable results. The training needs to be upgraded and should also include First Aid, Marksmanship, Physical fitness, land navigation, and Communications.
