USAF A-10C Phase 1 desktop training system nears initial operating capability
Article Abstract:
The production-standard version of the A-10C Phase 1 desktop training system (DTS) produced for the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Air National Guard (ANG) will achieve its initial operating capability in February 2007. The Phase I DTS is designed to provide low-cost portable simulation training for pilots converting from the A-10A to the A-10C and for continuation training while the A-10C has new multifunction color displays, and state-of-the art precision engagement capabilities.

Unmanned vehicle challenge attracts 195 contenders
Article Abstract:
DARPA's 2005 Grand Challenge with a $2 million cash prize for an autonomous ground vehicle that can plan, negotiate and complete a 175-mile desert trail in less than 10 hours has attracted almost 200 contenders. The (DARPA) will be cutting the entries to 40 qualifiers and then to 20 finalists who earn a slot in the race.
