The unsung heroes
Article Abstract:
The military truck, one of the most important equipment used in every military campaign, is also one of the most overlooked. Despite the truck's importance in supplying the armed forces with spare parts, food, water, fuel and ammunition, it is most often relegated to the lowest budgetary priority in most armed forces. However, the military continues to demand that its trucks be reliable, sturdy, serviceable and able to operate in extreme terrain and environmental conditions.

Trucks for the millenium - a rolling survey
Article Abstract:
The truck will be roughly 100 years old by 2000. Military trucks since roughly 1900 have evolved in terms of design relating to available power, payload, crew comfort, suspension, drive trains and other design aspects. Yet military truck design has essentially changed very little through time, with the engine and driver's cab located at the front, the load- carrying area located at the rear and the chassis remaining a simple ladder structure on nearly all trucks. Future trucks might feature more electronics, generalizations of automatic transmissions and electrical drives and steering.
