US M-16 replacement is emerging

The US Army announced for a potential replacement for the entire M16/M4 small arms family, the Heckler & Koch XM8 Lightweight Modular Weapon System, which has served as the USEs standard military small arms nearly for around 40 years in the nationEs history. The operating system derived from the Armalite AR-18 improves on M16 by incorporating a piston and operating rod rather than the M16Es direct impingement gas tube.
