New lease of life for Raytheon's LASM
Article Abstract:
Raytheon's Land Attack Stadard Missile (LASM) may soon receive funding from the US Navy, which has asked for the release of the program's frozen Fiscal 1999 funding. Part of the funding will support 300 converted LASMs, which are based on Standard Missiles Block II/IIIs. Other part of the funding will be used to study the missile's long-term, including penetrating payloads and longer range.

SEA RAM trial for HMS York
Article Abstract:
The SEA RAM Inner-Layer Defence System (ILDS) will be tested aboard the Royal Navy Type 42 destroyer HMS York. The system is a low-cost evolution of the Phalanx Close-In Weapon System into an autonomous Rolling Airframe Missile ILDS. No live firings will be conducted since sufficient missile performance data is already available from over 150 RAM firings which attained over 95% success.
