US sea-based missile shield shaping up
Article Abstract:
Three key facets of the US sea-based Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) shield went through successful trial programmes in September 2005, with the tracking of an advanced, separating warhead target, the track and trajectory dissemination of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), and the first activation of the Sea-Based X-Band (SBX) radar. Trial of Aegis BMD links data to Ballistic Missile Defense centre.
