Article Abstract:
Gen Eric Shinseki, Chief of Staff of the US Army, said peace support operations are increasingly becoming the trend of roles played by western armies. Shinseki added that the US Army remains prepared to fulfill its first priority as envisaged under the National Military Strategy. He also pointed out that the US Army is being transformed to meet the challenges of the 21st century. This transformation will affect structure, equipment and training.
