Upping the stakes: Demand rises for new-generation tactical UAVs

The use of tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (TUAVs) is making significant changes in the operational procedures and a reduction in battlefield casualties. Coalition governments are pumping funds into the simulation and training, research and development of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems aimed at operational success and combat troop protection, programmes dealing with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and communications relay.
