UK trimaran warship demonstrator
Article Abstract:
The UK Ministry of Defense and other defense-related research institutes are studying the trimaran structure as a naval platform to be used as a proposed design of the Type 22/23 frigate replacement. The advantages of trimaran configuration include a 20% savings in hull resistance at higher speeds, a significant stability advantage and improved ship design effectiveness due to greater deck area/length.
