Yugoslavia hits back at Macedonia with tariffs
Article Abstract:
Yugoslavia has dramatically raised the tariff on Macedonian goods trucks crossing the Yugoslav border to DM 10,000 or $5,926 per truck. Implemented in Dec 1999, the move was in retaliation to Macedonia's decision to allow NATO's combat troops, Extraction Force, on its territory. The trade war between the two countries is not expected to escalate, according to senior NATO sources.
