A recent poll revealed that 46% of respondents in Anglophone Canada would vote or consider voting for the Reform Party. Reform Party Leader Preston Manning has been unjustly accused of being a racist, anti-French, and a right-wing fanatic. Manning is a conservative favoring more democracy and free markets.

Brian Mulroney accomplished much during his nine-year tenure as Canada's prime minister. Mulroney took office in Sep 1984 and instituted needed reforms in areas such as trade and government spending. The risks he employed to achieve his goals are described.
