The economic consequences of Mr. Clinton
Article Abstract:
The causes of the UK economic depression under Churchill is compared to the deficit reduction with zero inflation goals of present US economic policy. Since deficits can stimulate the economy, this policy of Pres. Clinton is dangerous. In the light of history, the debate must be reopened.

The defense buildup during the Reagan administration is a major cause of the budget deficits of the 1990s, but Pres Clinton's plans to balance the budget do not include defense cuts. The US must make the domestic investments needed to change from a raiding nation to a trading nation.
