AT and T Canada Inc. is hoping to finalize a "$70-million to $100-million range" e-commerce acquisition of an Eastern Canadian "application and content provider" within a month. CEO John McLennan would not reveal the company or any other information about the deal.

BCE gets okay for Nortel spinoff

Brampton, Ont.-based Nortel Networks Corp., which is a telecommunications equipment maker, will be spun off by its parent company, Montreal, Que.-based BCE Inc. BCE, which is led by chief executive officer Jean Monty, will sell a 37% stake in Nortel Networks.
