Air Canada to ground some flights, add others

Montreal, Que.-based Air Canada, which has acquired Calgary, Alb.-based Canadian Airlines International Ltd., has announced that it cancel certain routes while adding other flights. Air Canada, which will integrate the two airlines' frequent fliers programs, will launch daily service between Tokyo, Japan and Toronto, Ontario.

WestJet says Air Canada hurting its business

Calgary, Alb.-based WestJet Airlines Ltd. has filed a complaint with the federal Competition Tribunal alleging anti-competitive behavior by rival Air Canada. WestJet, which will postpone plans to expand service, claims that it has lost $182,585 on its Hamilton-Moncton air route.
