Airline-ownership rules may be eased

David Collenette, Canada's Federal Transport Minister, is seriously considering to raise foreign-ownership restriction in a Canadian airline to 49% from the current 25% in order to solve Canadian Airlines International Ltd's financial problems. Canadian Airlines, which is 25% owned by American Airlines, requires as much as C$500 million in additional capital to sustain its operations.
