Alcatel to cut 160 jobs, close Montreal-area plant
Article Abstract:
Alcatel SA is set to lay off all of its 160 employees at its cable manufacturing facility in Hochelaga near Montreal, Canada. The closure results from Alcatel's move to consolidate the operation with its New Holland, PA, plant, which performs the same function. Employees at the Hochelaga plant will be offered positions in New Holland and those who cannot relocate will be provided severance packages.
