Another Net access firm wobbles

Rhythms NetConnections is the latest dot-com startup to experience financial problems. The provider of high-speed Internet access has hired investment bank Lazard Freres to explore strategic options for the company, including its outright sale, joint venture or restructuring. Rhythms said it has enough cash until Jan 2002 but has scaled back its expansion program. Its stock is trading at 31 cents per share, down by 99% from Mar 2000, and could be delisted from Nasdaq.

New rule rattles cellphone industry

U.S. cellphone customers are relieved from the pain of changing phone numbers whenever they want to change their carrier due to a new rule in the cellphone industry in the year 2003 that would let the customers keep their cell phone number even if they switch carriers. A few guidelines on how to switch cellphone carrier service and the problems that can arise are provided.
