Asset sales lift Hollinger profit

Toronto, Ont.-based Hollinger Inc. has reported that it earned $189.4 million in profits on revenue of $3.19 billion in 2000. Hollinger, which publishes the National Post newspaper, sold 13 major dailies and other assets last year to Winnipeg-based CanWest Global Communications Corp. for $3.2 billion.
