Auf Wiedersehen pest
Article Abstract:
Pest management in Australia has been poorly administered due to complex policies that have tried to cater to the needs of agriculture and the economy rather than ecological balance. The dingo and other wild dogs cost the government A$7 mil a year, and pests such as rabbits, pigs, and cats require an equally large sum to manage. But a radical new approach that involves species-specific fertility control may be able address the problem more efficiently.
