B.C. forestry firm to seek damages

Vancouver, BC-based West Fraser Mills Ltd.'s U.S. owners will make a $30 million arbitration claim against the Canadian government. The claim, which will be filed by Ketcham Investments Inc. and Tysa Investments Inc., alleges that the Canadian government violated the North American Free Trade Agreement in relation to softwood lumber trade.

Lumber deal seen before Christmas

Marc Racicot, the Bush administration's envoy in charge of reaching an agreement with Canada over the softwood lumber trade dispute, has expressed confidence that a deal will be reached before the year's end.
