B.C. venture capitalists on the move
Article Abstract:
Recent changes in British Columbia's venture capital companies are expected to spur more investments in different firms. Ventures West Management Inc, which has more than C$300 million under management has named Robin Louis to replace co-founder Michael Brown as president. Meanwhile, Working Opportunity Fund has launched a new management company called Growthworks Capital Ltd to manage it and other funds. Another significant event is the formation of Greenstone Venture Partners by the three former managers from the Vancouver branch of Business Development Bank of Canada.

Prolonged strike at Inco could boost nickel price
Article Abstract:
The United Steelworkers of America labor union voted down a new contract with Inco Ltd. Workers at Inco's Sudbury, Ontario plant, which numbered over 3,000, forced operations to halt and created pressure for an an increase in nickel prices.
