BCSC to cut fees to spread its wealth to dealers

Douglas Hyndman, the chairman of the British Columbia Securities Commission, has announced a plan to cut regulatory rates and fees that are charged to securities dealers and public companies. The BCSC is expected to return about $10 million in 2002 to the investment industry.

OSC moves against two more penny stock dealers

The Ontario Securities Commission will attempt to close down the operations of two Toronto securities dealers, Price Warner Securities Ltd. and Gordon-Daly Grenadier Securities. The OSC has alleged that the securities dealers placed excessive prices on penny stocks.
