B. Smith, whose real name is Barbara Smith, has added 'B. Smith Style' magazine to her list of business ventures. The lifestyle magazine, which debuted in the fall of 1999, became a bimonthly publication in May 2000. However, Smith, the owner of the B. Smith's chain of restaurants and the host of a TV show, is expected to encounter strong competition in a magazine segment that already has such established personalities as Martha Stewart and Oprah Winfrey.
