Baby dearest: Australians wanting to adopt children from overseas face forbidding costs and a frustrating amount of red tape
Article Abstract:
Overseas adoption can cost Australian parents up to $35000 and even more, who are outraged at the state bureaucracies that guard every angle not allowing parents to directly contact orphanages or donor country governments. The inconsistency of the government's decision to subsidise infertility treatments and not adoption is inequitable and sends a message about adoption not being supported way of family building.
