Balancing bear
Article Abstract:
During his last year in office Russian President Boris Yeltsin has taken every opportunity to secure his leadership role. He is described as obsessed with power while his country is embroiled in crises after crises. Yeltsin's firing of Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov days prior to a failed impeachment motion is another victory for Yeltsin, which more than likely will be followed by another crisis.

Is this any way to run a country?
Article Abstract:
Yeltsin fired his entire cabinet on Mar 23, 1998, shocking many. He even fired Viktor Chernomyrdin, his very loyal prime minister. Yeltsin claimed he fired them due to their inability to solve Russia's economic problems, but some wonder if the decision indicates that Yeltsin is losing his ability to govern the country.
