Apple Computer unveils Mac operating system

Apple Computer Inc has unveiled its much anticipated new operating system (OS) at a show in Paris, France, in Sep 13, 2000. The Mac OS X, a graphics-rich software, will be marketed in early 2001 at a price of $30 per CD. Industry observers said that the move to a new OS is critical for Apple to cope with the highly competitive personal computer market. Also at the show, the company introduced a Key lime version of its iBook laptop computer.

Netscape confirms big security flaw in Web browser
Article Abstract:
Netscape Communications has confirmed earlier reports that a bug makes its Web brownser vulnerable to attacks by computer hackers. The bug allows a programmer to read or access files without any warning on any computer connected to the Internet. The Brown Orifice bug can be found in Netscape Communicator versions 4.74 and earlier. The bug does not affect the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.
