The big spill: a Canadian gold mine battles a cyanide leak
Article Abstract:
A dam leak at Cambior Inc's gold mining operations in Omai, Guyana, caused cyanide-tainted water to spill into two rivers, the Essequibo and the Omai. Fish in the rivers apparently died in numbers, but no human casualties were reported.
