Banks Drop Support of Bid For Russian Oil Giant's Unit

Yuganskneftgas, the largest production subsidiary of Russian oil giant OAO NK Yukos, will be auctioned off on Sunday. Obeying an order from an American judge, international banks, including Deutsche Bank, have withdrawn a their financing for Gazprom's acquisition bid.

OPEC Sets Cut in Output Next Month; Oil Prices Fall
Article Abstract:
The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries agreed to cut production to 27 million barrels a day as of January 1, 2005. The decrease in production should keep oil prices at about $40 a barrel.
