Yukos offers Kremlin $7.5-billion: Russian oil giant says it can settle tax dispute if it is given three years to pay
Article Abstract:
Russian oil giant OAO Yukos offered to pay $7.5-billion in taxes if it is given three years to do so, in an desperate attempt to make a deal with the Russian Government and thereby avoid bankruptcy. The offer however seems to be a long shot, since the government has rejected numerous offers from the company and financial experts believe that the company has sufficient assets to cover the tab.
