Bass Hotels eyes Canadian expansion

Bass Hotels and Resorts of Atlanta, GA, is eyeing a Canadian expansion that could bring as many as 40 Holiday Inn hotels to Canada and triple the company's number of high-end resorts over the next two to five years. The company plans to spend about $750 million for renovation and expansion. Bass Chairman and CEO Thomas Oliver said the timing of the expansion is appropriate owing to the positive outlook for Canadia's tourism industry.
