Bell, AT&T keep flat-rate plan
Article Abstract:
Bell Canada and AT&T Canada Long Distance Services Co. have declared they have no intention to pull out their flat-rate monthly calling plans. The confirmation was issued by both companies after their rival, Sprint Canada Inc., announced it will curtail its unlimited flat-rate plan due to network congestion. AT&T Canada Long Distance and Bell Canada officials conceded increased long distance volume brought by flat-rate plans has been causing problems in making calls, especially in the evening. However, executives said congestion problem does not pose enough pressure for them to curtail their flat rate plans, which have been helping them attract more clients.
